Discrepancia en la longitud de la pierna, escoliosis funcional y dolor de espalda baja

En el contexto de la discrepancia de la longitud de las piernas (LLD), la escoliosis funcional ocurre cuando la columna lumbar compensa la oblicuidad pélvica para mantener el equilibrio del hombro.

El LLD de larga duración puede ocasionar cambios degenerativos de la columna lumbar, alteraciones en la mecánica de la marcha y dolor lumbar.

Los pacientes con LLD, lumbalgia y escoliosis funcional deben someterse a una evaluación radiográfica con la pelvis nivelada utilizando bloques colocados debajo de la extremidad más corta. Cuando el LLD o los síntomas son mínimos, los pacientes pueden beneficiarse de un levantamiento de zapatos. Los pacientes con un LLD de> 20 mm pueden considerarse para la intervención quirúrgica.
